We are in Georgia!!! No, not the state. We are in Tbilisi, Georgia. A beautiful country known for its luscious green hills and delicious khinkali. This is the last country with my team before we switch teams again for the last time and finish the last 3 months of the race. WILD. It was ATL month, so we prayed into what the Lord was calling us to. We felt strongly about evangelism and the word “healing” was prophesied over this team by one of our squad leaders. Tbilisi was the city that God gave us, and we learned from the story of Jonah. We vowed to say yes the FIRST TIME and to declare God’s message of repentance and salvation.

You can’t evangelize if you stay home all day or see healing if you don’t lay hands on the sick and hurting.

One of the days we were evangelizing was on Women’s Day, so we bought flowers to hand out and that led to conversations. We got to share the gospel very clearly with the help of google translate. We declared all day to God’s people that “Jesus Christ is Lord, He died for your sins and resurrected for you have a close relationship with God.” Others times we stated, “Jesus Christ is Lord, He is the way, the truth, and the life. He is only way for to have an eternal relationship with God.” Other times, while we prayed, we would say more specific things we thought God wanted us to say over them that were more personal. There were so many tender moments with the Georgian people. As we continued, we saw an elderly woman sitting in front of an Orthodox Church.

Here is the thing, Georgia is an Orthodox country, in which they know about Jesus dying on the cross and resurrecting. However, majority of the Orthodox religion worships and prays to saints and angels. Which has called to question idolatry worship. God is the only one to be worshipped. We don’t bow down before Mary, we bow down before Jesus. He is Lord, He is God. We pray to God because he is the only one who can answer your prayers and worship God for, he is the only one worthy of all the honor and glory.

So, we started talking to this beautiful elderly woman and asked to pray for her and she said yes. I ask her if she is Orthodox, and she said yes. Alright Lord, we need you. Isaak, our great teammate, felt to type something bold and asked for prayer for this woman’s heart to be softened. Typed out in his google translate said, “Please do not worship the saints, Jesus’s death and resurrection was sufficient. Jesus is the alpha and the omega and the only one to be worshipped.

This woman started to WEEP! There was a huge shift, Isaak, Madison, April and I were all moved greatly by the Holy Spirit with tears in our eyes. She cried and cried, and I got to just hold her so tightly with my arms around her. We prayed even more. We shared more of the gospel and prayed for her one last time. She hugged and kissed us, and we made a new friend that day, we continue to pray for Leila for we know and believe God is going to continue to reveal truth.

I will cherish that moment forever, and always be reminded to worship the one and only God.
